Jon Muth, The Stonecutter

Here's a wonderful video. Take a couple minutes to watch this, and you'll feel like you've been sitting quietly, taking a few slow, deep breaths and letting the busyness of the world slip away. I love the simplicity of how the video has been shot in black and white, like an old movie. Thanks to artist Katherine Tillotson for the link.

How lovely, Betsy. That thick brush! The delicacy of the lines!

thanks you two!
Doesn't this just make you take a deep breath and exhale out tension? Not to mention his work is so awesome.

Yes, beautiful. Coincidentally, I was just visited by a friend whom I've seen once in 45 years. Her passion is Japanese brush painting and while she was here she gave me a little lesson . Wonderful possibilities!

Perhaps it is all in the wrist, like fly fishing? Once the mind is stilled and focused, of course...
